Throughout the baseball season in Oakland, I find that there are only a handful of games where electricity coarses through the ballpark. Of course, the games in which the Yankees are playing come to mind (do you think I’m being a little partial? nah!).

Another series is what this area of California calls “The Battle of

the Bay”, in which the Oakland A’s play the San Francisco Giants. In what was billed to be a pitchers' duel at the Coliseum tonight, with two of baseball’s best pitchers (Duchscherer vs. Lincecum) slated to face off against each other, this game met all expectations. Unfortunately for the A’s, the Giants scored the only run of the game on an error - resulting in a 1-0 victory for the visiting Gigantes. Though some find this type of low scoring game to be boring, I love the excitement of these close contests!
