Friday Blog Trivia #6: Death & Texas

On our way to and from the reunion this past weekend, beyond our control, we got to know the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport very, very well. A long 3-hour layover there on the trip out east, and then a weather-related 6-hour delay at DFW on the way back home. Since I had some time to burn in the Lone Star State, I picked up a little something for this week’s Friday Blog Trivia winner.... a “custom” pen & four postcard set straight from the airport gift shop - Woo Hoo! Believe it or not, the pen has a family of armadillo floating inside! No, they’re not dead...because they ain't real (nice grammar, eh?). But I would imagine that if these armadillo were indeed real, they would make a magnificent cracking sound when struck by a putter - or driver, for that matter! But, once again, I digress. Getting down to business, I’ve named this week’s trivia challenge “Death & Texas”. I really don’t know why, since the questions have absolutely nothing to do with death, and furthermore, some of the answers have nothing to do with Texas! I guess I was just trying to humor myself. Ha ha. Ok, enough of this silliness, here are the rules..

Like last week, there are 7 questions to answer. The first to post the correct answer to each of the seven questions, will collect this week’s prize package! Here are this week's questions:

1. Who said the following? "Houston, we've had a problem. We've had a main B bus undervolt."

2. Steve Austin, otherwise known as “The Six Million Dollar Man”, was played by what actor in this 1970's television series?

3. Who was "Six Million Dollar Man" Steve Austin’s fiancee? (either fictional character or actual actress name is acceptable - but either must be spelled correctly!)

4. Who was the Governor of Tennessee during President John Quincy Adams’ last two years in office?

5. What year and in what state did Alamo Rent A Car begin its business?

6. The city of Texarkana is actually two cities (huh?). Obviously, they sit on the border of the states of Texas and Arkansas. Name the street that joins these two states in Texarkana.

7. Name the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band that wrote and performed a song entitled “Texarkana” and the album/CD that it first appeared on.

Good Luck Y'all!

Drats - slept right thru that 2 am alarm!! Wow, it was a close one this week - Cranzilla gets in by the skin of her teeth! Hey Erk, I never saw any armadillo filled pens at DFW - you must have left the building........

I could have gotten it in sooner but got tripped up *twice* by word verification!!!

Thanks for the chance to play! I do feel like I am actually learning something. ;)

I will be entertaining the Steve/Sue clan next Friday -- maybe I can get them to try their hands at Friday Blog Trivia!

As an advocate for fairness (but still enjoying winning) I still think the time should be moved to 3PM EST...perhaps we could all vote or something.

I'm stuffing the ballot box w/ my votes for 3 pm, or even 12 pm EST so the East Coast Q&Q contestants can play during the lunch hour!!

No mercy, Cranzilla! It sounds like there was a chance that you got lucky this week. Besides, you adult participants must continue to prove week in and week out that you are smarter than some lowly fifth-grader (love ya, Tori! : ) ) and her mother! It will certainly be a sad day if (and I say, "IF") some "non-adult" beats the rest of you so-called "brainiac adults" at this Friday Trivia game. So again Cranzilla, no mercy. No mercy!
