Memories of Oregon.
My Dad loved, lived and breathed Oregon. Growing up, whenever he took us out to the “Beaver State”, you could just sense his excitement as he dragged the family to see the beauty of Oregon’s every corner. From the eastern farmlands in Vale and Ontario, down to gorgeous Crater Lake in the southland. I remember going up with him to Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood and freezing our butts off..... in the middle of summer. Absolutely nuts! I think where Dad was mostly in his element, however, was when he visited the Oregon Coast. How can you forget the picturesque Cannon Beach monolith they call Haystack Rock, or riding the sand dunes in Florence? If he had his choice, I’m sure that Dad would have found a beachfront shack or pitched a tent in the sand so he could spend his days beachcombing and taking in this beautiful scenery.

That will go down as one of the most beautiful and memorable trips ever. I'll always remember being so dizzy at the top of Astor's Column, marveling at Multnomah Falls, riding the sand dunes and going on quests for that one elusive clam shack. One of my best memories spending time with my peeps. Dad always knew how to show us a good time and never wasted a second of life.
A nice entry to remember a wonderful man. I was just a young lad, but I still have fond memories of both your Mom and Dad during our visits to Smithtown. They were some of the most sweetest, kind, most genuine people I've ever known. xoxo p.
