As summer arrives, the whale (pictured here) will be a prominent sight on the blog for the next couple months - as I’ll be spending many of my non-working hours in the pool with him/her/it. Unfortunately, not only is this whale in need of air in its right flipper, it also lacks a name. Rather than continuing to call this sack of air, “the whale”, I think it would be proper to address it by name. Please take a moment or two, and save the whale from a life of anonymity... leave your whale name ideas here! The winning entry will be chosen this Monday 6/23.

In honor of an old-time New Yawker, Tom Carvel, I submit the name "Fudgie the Whale." Mmmm, how does a slice of Carvel ice cream cake sound right now?
That's funny, bb! I was trying to remember the name of that whale ice cream cake all day. Mmmmm, I'm really missing the soft serve vanilla dipped in chocolate and the "flying saucer" right now!
