Baseball, Cemetery, Eat, Shop, Memories, Eat Some More...

Have you ever eaten so much in one day, that your ribs hurt? This is the pain I am seriously experiencing right now as I write this entry - and I have Mark & Elise to thank for this discomfort. The day started innocently enough, by catching the best A’s baseball game that I will see all year - guaranteed. No, not the Oakland A’s, but the Challenger A’s of Fremont. As you can tell by the pictures, these players truly play for the love of the game! Our next stop was the Gates of Heaven Cemetery in the Los Altos Hills, where we visited my parents grave. As we left the cemetery, Kim and I both remarked how hungry we were, since we had rushed out of the house somewhat early without grabbing any breakfast. This feeling was quickly remedied, as we met Mark & Elise for a nice lunch at Minato’s in Japantown, San Jose. From here, what was supposed to be an afternoon of looking through old pictures and slides (some that may eventually find their way onto this blog) - turned into a long, but wonderful trip down memory lane. This lengthy trip, however, also drove us into the dinner time neighborhood. A master in the kitchen and at the grill, Mark prepared a gourmet feast for us - which included a bevy of salads - asparagus pasta salad, potato salad, fruit salad - along with tater tots and a large juicy burger cooked to perfection! Mmmmm, hurts so good!
