Running a little late this year, the afternoon was spent doing the annual "pruning the roses down to the ground". I have to say that this is probably... no, definitely the toughest (and most painful) part of growing roses - and it really isn't that tough at all. For in a few months, this rose bush will look nothing like the "stump" it is right now. (edited 1.24.09 @ 9:22pm - my proofreading has been totally out of whack lately, hopefully, this edit will make much more sense... )
