Meet my interpretation of Danbo...

For those of you who seem to think that I have way too much time on my hands sometimes, well... this post will do little to change your mind.

I ran across a picture the other day of this cardboard robot - named "Danbo". For some odd reason that I still cannot explain, I was mysteriously drawn to him/her. Subsequently, I searched out more photos of this character. As it turns out, this robot is a character in the Japanese anime series "Yotsuba&!". Please don't ask me if I know anything more about this character or series, because I just found out this tidbit of information shortly before I posted this entry. Anyways, today I had the strange urge to create a three-dimensional model of my newest obsession. (ok... this is getting weird.)

After a trip to Michael's to pick up some modeling clay and some pipe cleaners, and a few hours of labor tonight, I give you... Danbo!

Here is some more information on the series "Yotsuba&":

How can you not like Danbo, he's such a friendly (yet, sad looking) robot. You have to be impressed that he is even able to stand independently... (for more than 3 seconds).

mmm... egg nog... haven't even had any this year : (
