Today's objective was to find a variety of places to get a half decent view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Leaving the balmy mid-70 degree weather of home, Bud and I were greeted with an outpouring of fog and cool wind (I'm guessing tempertures in the mid-50's) as we entered the city - stopping first for a trek around the Presidio and the San Francisco National Cemetery. Crossing the Golden Gate Bridge, we made a quick stop at Vista Point, just northeast of the bridge, and then headed a few hundred feet below into Fort Baker. From here, today's field trip took us to the west side of the bridge, into the Marin Headlands. On a clear day, I'm guessing that the views of the bridge from this side would be spectacular! Unfortunately, guessing is what I'd have to do today, as the temperatures here shot down even lower, the fog became thicker and the wind became even more blustery. I'll definitely need to do this trip again soon... on a clearer day.
