Half-asleep, I snuck out the door this morning to take some pictures of downtown Tracy. Was so tired, that I didn’t even bother checking and adjusting the camera settings ... still obviously learning how to use this darn toy. Anyways, as day was starting to break, I was able to take some pictures of the newly renovated Grand Theatre Center for the Arts. This theatre is the centerpiece of the downtown revitalization project. I then wandered over to Tracy’s brand spanking new City Hall. Here, unfortunately, is where progress on my Sunday morning project came to a grinding halt. City Hall happens to be right across the street from the Tracy police station. Standing on the lawn of the police station, I guess I alarmed some of the officers just coming on duty. So, as you may have probably assumed by now, an officer “engaged me in conversation” for a few minutes, taking down my vital information and making sure that I wasn’t too much of a threat. Gee, I don’t know what may have raised their suspicions... taking pictures of a government building, carrying a nondescript black camera backpack, USB and AV cables dangling out of the front pocket (ok, I just added that last one for effect). Nevertheless, it is nice to know that the city’s police are on the job. After this fun experience, I headed for the hills to take some pictures of the windmills that surround the city... I figured that I had enough excitement for the morning.

Now whenever I hear the theme song for Cops . . . bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do when they come for you? I'm gonna think of Egret! Of course, you have to get in line behind Mad Dog, who met one of Oakland's finest a couple weeks ago when he was driving a little too fast on his way to Piedmont . . .:(
Mad Dog, Mad Dog, whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do when they come for you?
... guess I better send in my MadBall entry fee to help cover THAT fine.
