Clouds and drizzle continue to be a common theme on our drives around the island. On Thursday, we trekked up to Haleiwa on Oahu’s North Shore for some shopping and shave ice. Our main objective was to find a nice Hawaiian bag for Kim, and some t-shirts for myself. I think we checked out all the surf shops and boutiques in town in search for these items. After a futile search, we decided to grab some lunch at Kua ‘Aina’s - great sandwiches if you ever happen to run across one of these restaurants in Honolulu or Tokyo. After some more unsuccessful shopping (zzzzzzzzz), we stopped in at Matsumoto’s for their famous shave ice. I have to admit that, before this excursion, I kind of knew that I was going to find and buy some t-shirts at this shop. But little did we know, there would also be some bags that would tickle Kim’s fancy. So, as it ends up, we met all of our shopping objectives at Matsumoto’s - a bag, some t-shirts and shave ice (Kim had watermelon, the rainbow one is mine!).

Oahu’s North Shore... where they let you pick your own boogie (board, that is.)
