Believe it or not, this was our first baseball game in over a month! When we last saw an Oakland A’s game, their record stood at 51-42. After their game (loss) tonight, their record stands at 55-64 - meaning that the A's have won only 4 of their last 26 games. Unfortunately, my Yankees aren’t doing much better, as their loss tonight, paired with Tampa Bay’s win against these A’s, puts them further out of playoff contention.
So, needless to say, it was important tonight to find as much positive in life as I could! Dollar hot dogs and a visit from Stomper the A's mascot (I'm way too cool to pose with some smelly pachyderm!)... well, that's about it.
... time to put together the trivia quiz for Friday!

Mmmm, that hot dog looks yummy!! By the looks of the stands behind you, you either got there really, really early, or the fans have given up on their beloved A's! Both the A's and Bombers have their work cut out for them the rest of the season, if there is a season left for them :(
My expectations at this point are not very high for either team - too many injuries and, in the A's case, too many trades.
The dollar hot dogs are pretty microscopic (I was holding 4 in my hand in the picture) - however, I was pretty sick of them after 2. A's fans tend to get to the coliseum late, which explains the empty stands. Wednesdays usually bring in some good numbers due to the $1 dogs and $2 seats - ended up being about 20,000 suckers there last night.
