Back at home... = (
Stepped in the door a couple hours ago after taking a red-eye out of Honolulu last night - couldn't sleep a wink on the plane, so I'm a bit sleep depraved at the moment. Just transferred my pics from the trip onto the home computer... pretty much learned from the trip that it is time for a new laptop, as iPhoto died on me. Anyways, enough of the sob stories. Here are the last of the highlights from Hawaii. Among the pictures included are a ground-level view of the hike up Diamond Head, more pictures from the luau, some surfboard art on the North Shore, a tide pool at Kaena Point near Waianae, sunset at the Ko'Olina Beach Club lagoon, and some rainbows. No nose picking in this lot. One note before the pictures... as we arrived in Hawaii, we saw this cool rainbow, so I made it a goal to try to capture one during the week. Although it was cloudy, and often "drizzly" throughout the week... no rainbow. So, on our way to the airport for our trip back home, we saw this fantastic rainbow just off of H1 - so I got off the freeway to try to find a spot to take a picture. Ten minutes later, when I finally found a safe spot to pull over, the rainbow was gone - figures, eh? Oh, well. After going through check-in and security at the airport, we walked around the airport to try to find someplace to eat. As we walked across one of the outdoor terminal walkways, Kim noticed that our subject had returned!

welcome back! thanks for sharing all the pics -- I feel like I was there...sort of. When does school start up for you?
Well, hope you are resting and catching up on zzzzzzzz's...it will be good to sleep in your own bed tonight!
Maybe you guys can join us next time? Perhaps, in lieu of AFR 2010 : ). But seriously, wouldn't Hawaii make a great spot for a reunion!?!?!?!?!?
Crashed for a few hours this afternoon, and am starting to feel somewhat back to normal (whatever that is). School starts (voluntary teacher inservices) begin next Wed. the 21st - blech! The kids start on the 27th. Can't believe the summer is almost over!
