You have to get up pretty early in the morning to...

WINNER! • Congratulations, Tamie!

Holy crap, I wasn't even able to wipe the sleep out of my eyes before seeing that there was a winner for "Area Code 718 Trivia" - Congratulations, Tamie! Your Target gift card is on its way.

Here are the long-winded answers:
1.) On average, during each of the past 3 seasons, the Yankees and Yankee Stadium have hosted over 4 million fans. Back in 1966, the stadium held almost 10,000 more fans than it can hold today. Unfortunately, during the mid-60’s to early 70’s, the Yankees were a team in decline. During a late September game in 1966, the Yankees played in front of a stadium record-low 413 fans! Can you name the team the Yankees were playing that day?
~ On September 25, 1966, only 413 people, the smallest crowd in Yankee Stadium history, watched the White Sox beat the Yankees 4-1. Read about other great Yankee Stadium moments here: http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080312&content_id=2421624&vkey=news_nyy&fext=.jsp&c_id=nyy

2.) Where can you find a giant 582 pound apple in Queens?
~ Shea Stadium is where you can find this giant magical fruit levitate from its top hat whenever a Mets' player hits a home run. Here's an article about Shea's famous apple: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2961358

3.) On view until October 13, 2008, this piece of public art can be seen beneath the Brooklyn Bridge. What is it, and name the artist who designed it.
~ “The New York City Waterfalls” by Olafur Eliasson. Here is the official New York City Waterfalls site: http://www.nycwaterfalls.org/

4.) Coney Island’s famous roller coaster, the Cyclone, has been in operation since 1927. What was the name of the roller coaster which previously occupied its space?
~ One of the largest roller coasters during its time, The “Giant Racer"- built in 1911, was torn down in 1926 to make way for the famous Coney Island "Cyclone". Read about early Coney Island History here: http://www.ultimaterollercoaster.com/coasters/history/early_1900/history_coney.shtml

5.) Foot and bicycle passengers ride the Staten Island Ferry for free. How much does it cost to bring your automobile aboard the ferry?
~ Automobiles have not been allowed on the ferries since September 11, 2001. Here is the official Staten Island Ferry website: http://www.siferry.com/
