Oakland A’s vs. New York Yankees • McAfee Coliseum • Oakland, CA • 6.10.08
Final score • 3-1 ..... Yankees win. During a break in play, Yankees designated hitter, Jason Giambi asks A's second baseman, Mark Ellis, "why can't you just admit it, we're better than you!"
Needless to say, it was a quiet ride back home tonight.
It was a quiet ride home, because I was tired. Jason was actually telling Mark Ellis that he wishes he would never have left the A's, because they are obviously the better team.
Yeah, tired of watching the A's squander chance after chance to put more than 1 run on the board.
Later in the same conversation, Mark asked Jason to keep an eye out for an NYC apartment for next season, since Mr. Ellis wants to sign with a better team, like the Yankees, when he becomes a free agent.
Who is anonymous? They obviously don't know anything about Mark Ellis. He is way too nice to play for the Yankees. He told Jason he didn't care what the A's would pay him, he would play in Oakland for free.
