First Golf Outing of 2008 • Bass Lake Golf Course • Rescue, CA • 3.16.08
For a Sunday, the day started early for Bud and myself, as we met Bob at his home in El Dorado Hills for a much anticipated 1st day of golf for 2008. Since our tee time was scheduled for 9:20am, we took off from chiily Tracy at around 7:15. Nestled in the Sierra Nevada Foothills, Bass Lake Golf Course - just 5 minutes down the road from Bob - did not offer much more warmth than what we left in Tracy. Although it was a beautiful course and the sun shined brightly upon us the whole day, I don’t think the temperature left the 40’s through the front 9. The course was relatively short, but challenging - as the ground was hard and “slopey” throughout . We probably would have done just as well playing the game on an ice rink, as controlling the speed and direction of the ball was challenging to say the least. In my rush to leave the house this morning, I forgot to grab the camera, but I did happen to grab a couple souvenirs from the trip for you. Don’t bother asking me to open the scorecard to show you how I did - it was not pretty. (If you ask nicely, maybe I’ll give you a hint, but that’s it.)
