Billy Joel • Arco Arena • Sacramento, CA • 2.26.08

We had a chance to go back in time last night and hear some of our favorite tunes at the Billy Joel concert in Sacramento. Great show, as the “Piano Man” played one crowd favorite after another during the non-stop 2 hour plus concert. Though his bandmates have changed, it was great to hear them remain faithful to the way the songs were played when I first heard them - they even had one of their roadies take the lead in “Highway to Hell”, as Billy traded his piano for a guitar! All in all, am really glad that I caught this show!

Did he play my favorite, Scenes from an Italian Restaurant? That alone would have been worth the price of admission . . .

Yup, he played that and pretty much all his obscure and mega-hit classics from that era (it's hard to believe that that song was recorded in 19*7 - can't even get myself to admit to the decade!). I thought he put on a better show than Springsteen - but I guess it helps that Billy wasn't promoting a new album.
